Transporting an epson stylus 3880 printer

I am planning to buy a printer in the next months - and I really would prefer a Canon. Canon has a reall opportunity w/ this 17' unit to grab major market from the 3880/P800 if they dont screw it up. Tired of the ink swap and the fragile swap valve along w/ pizza marks. I'll tell you that if/when the 3880 dies, the probable replacement will not be Epson. Why a couple of weeks? I mean - is there a specific event? I am in the same boat and waiting for the canon announcement. They have something that will compete w/ the 3880/P800. I'd wait a couple of weeks and see what Canon is introducing intheir new 'Pro' line of printers.

The P800 replaces the 3880 in the current product line. I've had much better success w/ the 3880 than my previous 3800 and I do see pizza marks on occasion. Nothing that I did (and I tried every suggestion) would fix the clogging issue on this second unit. The first one I bought failed within 3-weeks and had to be replace by Epson. I had a 3880 for a few years and, although it printed beautiful images, it started to suffer from nozzle clogging issues after 18-months. In fact, I switch to a Canon WF printer and couldn't be more satisfied. I would like to get input from Epson 3880 owners - would you buy the printer again - if you had to do it again? I am concerned with what I have read here about the 'pizza wheel marks' - but it seems to me that if you use only Epson paper - then you are safe. I am responsible for the purchase and are afraid to go wrong. If we buy the printer we will use only Epson paper and Epson ink.
